Marine Services

Our specialist Marine division offers highly valuable advice, analysis and liaison services to our offshore clients built on extensive experience and longstanding relationships within the fishing industry.

Why Work with Us

Our Marine team are local to and from coastal fisheries and marine backgrounds. They speak the language and understand the concerns of the fishermen they engage with on behalf of clients to ensure projects run smoothly and successfully.

Our clients benefit from this network of meaningful relationships we have developed across the UK and Ireland and our first-class engagement and negotiation skills.

The Marine team can carry out detailed analysis and feasibility studies for offshore projects as well as developing a strategic plan to take clients from planning and construction through to operation.

This is underpinned by our excellent land referencing and GIS team who provide in-depth information and spatial data to support each project.

“We do stakeholder engagement that stands the test of time. I know how to do it the way I would have wanted it done when I was a fisherman.”
Tommy Finn
Director of Marine/Fisheries

Key capabilities

We provide expert liaison services and valuable fisheries advice to our offshore clients using local knowledge and extensive sector experience. We can act as a project Fisheries Liaison Officer and/or Fishing Industry Representative.

We negotiate seabed leases with the Crown Estate and, if required, organise and lead commercial fishery working groups as well as providing advice on the negotiation of compensation agreements associated with surveys, installation, decommissioning activities and wider works.

We lead the coordination and identification of vessels in operation, charting the location, type and value of fishing undertaken. This includes assessing the density and location of static gear, and the potential displacement of mobile fishing vessels. B&P have our own vessel and can charter additional/alternative vessels as needed.

We will help develop suitable fisheries mitigation and monitoring plans to support the consent process for offshore developments.

We continuously engage with commercial fishermen and other legitimate sea users on behalf of our clients throughout a project, ensuring positive outcomes for all including long-lasting relationships, reputation management and legacy benefits.
